Code Snippets Wiki:What Codesnippets is not
From Code Snippets Wiki
This page describes what Codesnippets is not. We are not multiple things, as can be seen below.
Contents |
[edit] Codesnippets is not Wikipedia
This should be gotten out of the way first. Codesnippets, unlike Wikipedia, is devoted to one thing only: Wiki-compatible codes and how to use them. So if you wanted to start an article about Bon Jovi, for example, you could either go to Bon Jovi Wiki or Wikipedia and expand those articles. Just don't go off-topic here.
[edit] Codesnippets is not Myspace
Sure, you can feel free to talk to other users, but when 50% or more of your edits go toward user pages, that's going overboard. If you've got a lot of talk edits, try to balance it out with some mainspace edits. The only thing that doesn't count is having a Guestbook. If you're a, let's say, Tony Hawk Impersonator, you're not welcome here.
[edit] Codesnippets is not iTunes
While the occasional auditory explanation is useful, having three auditories over the exact same topic is redundant. Also, you should try to avoid having more than two examples because that can compel the reader to listen to all of them and detract from the user's attention to the main text.
[edit] Codesnippets is not Doubleclick
We are not a soapbox. If you came here to spam us, don't bother. We will block you on sight if you do so.
[edit] Codesnippets is not 3pic
If you're PWeeHurman or a sock of his, you are not welcome here, because you keep putting images of porn here. Therefore, if we see any porn here on this site, you will be blocked on sight.
[edit] Codesnippets is not Flickr
We're not even a repository of free images. (Well, Flickr isn't a free image repository.) Anyway, don't bother treating us like Flickr because if you do, we'll delete your images, and upload them to your newly-created Flickr account based on your username.
[edit] Codesnippets is not NSIS
Sure, we may have installation wrappers, but if you want to develop an installation packet, we recommend you go to the NSIS Wiki. They'll help you from there.
